Talent Details
The Talent requirements are the same for both CHEER/DANCE SUPER STAR AND All American SUPER STAR candidates.
Dancers will perform on a wood dance floor 15' x 27'.
It is recommended that dance routines include at least 2 leaps and 1 jump/turn within the choreography. Music/style & choreography is the individual's choice.
Cheerleaders will perform on a mat 30' x 42'.CHEER routines are to be individual. No assistance in skills/stunts. It is recommended CHEER routines include at least 3 jumps & 1 tumbling pass. CHEERLEADERS may choose to do their entire performance to music or a combination of music and cheers/chants. Music/style & choreography is the individual's choice.
Talent presentations are CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC.
four people may be in the room. We strongly recommended a coach (or someone familiar with playing the music) and a parent attend. Absolutely no exceptions to the number of people in the room.
NOTE: If multiple students from the same squad are competing, then please have a designated music person assigned to EACH person... not one music person... as multiple rooms are used and students from the same team may be competing at the same time in different locations.
NOTE: Music should be on a good quality music CD. Each performer should have their own, single CD, with just THEIR MUSIC on the CD, clearly labeled with the performers name. Do NOT put multiple songs on a CD. If performer does not have the music with them at the time of their scheduled performance, they will forfeit their chance at competing. UPA can not allow time to wait for the music to arrive. If bringing your own CD with burned music, make sure to bring along your boom box to ensure that the music will play.
Video taping your talent presentation is allowed. If the performer is okay with you taping the routine, then feel free to do so.
A one minute maximum time limit is strictly enforced, no minimum time limit enforced.
Participants should be in their school/gym/studio uniform or a costume when competing.
PARTICIPANTS SHOULD ADHERE TO THEIR RULES & REGULATIONS THAT GOVERN THEIR STATE AND/OR PROGRAM.
