UPA LEAP / KICK SUPER STAR

What Is It?
The upa LEAP Super Star and KICK super star competitions determine the best-of-the-best in specific DANCE skill areas. All competition takes place at the AmeriCup in Minneapolis. Think you can be a Super Star winner? Give it a try! Participants should be in their school uniform or a costume when competing. Individuals will also be selected from this competition for the elite UPA All Stars.
WHAT PACKAGE DO I HAVE TO BUY IN ORDER TO COMPETE IN THIS EVENT?
PARTICIPANTS MAY ATTEND THIS EVENT EVEN IF THEIR TEAM IS NOT COMPETING AT THE AMERICUP. HOWEVER, ALL COMPETITORS MUST PURCHASE THE UPA ATHLETE PACKAGE IN ADDITION TO THE $30 PER PERSON REGISTRATION FEE IN ORDER TO COMPETE IN THIS EVENT. ALL COMPETITORS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND THE UPA SEMI-FORMAL AWARDS GALA WHERE THE WINNERS ARE RECOGNIZED.

You do not need to qualify for this event. It is open to everyone.

How Are The Super Star Divisions Broken Up?
DETERMINED BY INDIVIDUALS AGE.
NEW BREAKDOWN FOR 2011!
TINY: 5 YEARS OLD AND UNDER
MITE: 6-8 YEARS OLD
YOUTH: 9-11 YEARS OLD
TEEN: 12- 14 YEARS OLD
JUNIOR: 15-16 YEARS OLD
SENIOR: 17-18 YEARS OLD
COLLEGIATE: 19 YEARS OLD AND UP
What Does It Cost?
$30 per person / PER EVENT (i.e. Jump, Leap, Kick, Tumble)
How do I Register?
REGISTER THROUGH THE ONLINE REGISTRATION SYSTEM VIA THE COACH/CONTACT. ONCE REGISTERED, THE COACH/CONTACT SIMPLY SELECTS EACH ATHLETES COMPETITION CHOICES.
LEAP SUPER STAR DeTAILS * Three leaps: variety [e.g., switch open, split, axel]
* Transitions & turns may be incorporated to assist in executing skills but should not be the focus
* No music, props, tumbling or added skills. Just LEAP!
* Leaps judged on difficulty, technique & execution
Participants should be in their school/gym/studio uniform or a costume when competing.
PARTICIPANTS SHOULD ADHERE TO THEIR RULES & REGULATIONS THAT GOVERN THEIR STATE AND/OR PROGRAM.
KICK SUPER STAR DeTAILS
* 4 - 8cts. of kicks: any combination & variety
* No music, props, tumbling or added skills. Just KICK!
* Kicks judged on difficulty, technique & execution
Participants should be in their school/gym/studio uniform or a costume when competing.
