HOW MANY COACHES MANY I NOMINATE?
You may nominate as many candidates as you’d like including multiple coaches from within the same organization. If a specific squad has co-coaches and you’d like them to be considered together, then indicate as such.

Andrew Lawrence Sportsmanship & Spirit Award
United Performing Association, Inc. (UPA) has awarded the SPORTSMANSHIP & SPIRIT Award to teams demonstrating the highest standard of sportsmanship since its founding in 1987. UPA President and Founder Lisa Saline has stressed the importance of sportsmanship in all UPA programs. She says “UPA believes that the Andrew Lawrence Sportsmanship & Spirit Award is the highest honor a team can receive”.
Guidelines for this award include: respectING all teams both on and off the floor, showing consideration for officials and judges, fostering a comfortable POSITIVE environment, DISPLAYING HIGH sportsmanship standards, and most importantly, acting in a way in which all teams admire.
This elite honor is named in memory of a special UPA staff member, Andrew Lawrence. Andrew died at the tender age of 11 on September 14th, 2003. He passed away peacefully from injuries sustained after being hit by a car while riding his bike. He demonstrated the ultimate spirit with his million-watt smile and ‘can do’ attitude. He is deeply missed by the UPA family who treasured the short time he spent with us. We will strive to carry on his legacy of compassion, character & sunny disposition by encouraging ourselves & others to follow in his footsteps.
Andy’s father (Bill), mother (Marie) and big sister (Jennifer) will choose the team they feel deserves this honor and UPA will recognize the team during THE SEMI-FORMAL AWARDS GALA ON Saturday night.
A special Memorial Scholarship Fund FOR COLLEGE TUITION has been established in Andy’s name. You may donate at any time to the Andrew Lawrence Scholarship & Memorial Fund. PLEASE CONTACT BILL LAWRENCE WITH THE INFORMATION BELOW.
