WHAT IS WORLDS?
UPA IS A MEMBER OF THE EVENT
PRODUCERS FROM PREMIER CHAMPIONSHIPS AROUND THE WORLD WHO SPONSOR THEIR
BEST TEAMS TO COMPETE AT THIS INTERNATIONAL ALL STAR EVENT HELD IN
FLORIDA AT WALT DISNEY WORLD RESORT ®. TEAMS MUST RECEIVE AN
INVITATION TO COMPETE (I.E. A BID). OVER 75 COUNTRIES WERE REPRESENTED
LAST YEAR.

Who Wins?
Everyone is a winner at the
UPA AmeriCup. All places will take home a trophy displaying their AGE
accomplishments. All division title holders with the HIGHEST SCORE
receive a banner for their school/gym, INDIVIDUAL MEDALS and the
official AmeriCup Champion trophy.
What Should My Competition
Goals Be For The UPA Weekend?
You should have two goals. The
first is to capture the CHAMPIONSHIP title in your division! Your
second
goal IS to qualify for the Grand Championship
round and take home the best-of-the-best Grand Champion title.
How Can I Win A Division Title?
All performances on Friday,
Saturday & Sunday will determine the UPA AmeriCup Division Champs.
YOU could be that team! The team with the highest score in the division
will be the champ and receive the trophy, individual medals and a
banner for your school/gym.
What Is AN AMERICUP Champion?THE AMERICUP CHAMPIONS
HOLD THE TITLE FOR THAT PARTICULAR AREA/EVENT (I.E. JUNIOR VARSITY
CHEER). ALL AMERICUP CHAMPIONS WILL HOLD THE TITLE FOR ONE YEAR. THIS
SHOULD BE THE FIRST GOAL OF ANY TEAM. TO CAPTURE THE TITLE AGAINST
NATIONALLY RANKED TEAMS WITHIN THEIR DIVISION.
HOW MANY TIMES WILL WE COMPETE?TEAMS COMPETE ONCE IN
DANCE AND TWICE IN CHEER TO DETERMINE THE DIVISION CHAMPIONS.
AT The conclusion of all division competition, teams with the highest
scores based on the grand champion divisions and qualifying
guidelines will advance onto the grand championship
round.

What Is The Grand Championship?
The Grand Championship is THE
ULTIMATE championship to determine the best-of-the-best in a particular
age category (i.e. All High School age cheer squads). The top
TEAMS in each age category will advance to the Grand
Championship. All teams will perform again and
start with zero ON THE GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP SCORE SHEET. EACH JUDGE WILL
SCORE ON A SCALE OF 1 TO 100. THE HIGHEST AVERAGE SCORE OF ALL JUDGES
COMBINED WILL DETERMINE UPA’S GRAND CHAMPIONS.

have the highest score from your division but still not have one of
the highest average scores IN YOUR PARTICULAR GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP AGE
CATEGORY.
Could We Qualify For The Grand
Championship But Not Win the Division?
YES. You
may
have one of the highest scores IN YOUR PARTICULAR AGE CATEGORY but
still not win your division. those higher than you WOULD also qualify.
WHY DO MORE TEAMS QUALIFY IN
CERTAIN DIVISIONS? UPA WILL ADVANCE MORE TEAMS IN SOME DIVISIONS
DUE TO THE LARGER NUMBER OF PERFORMANCES IN THESE PARTICULAR CATEGORIES.
CAN WE EARN BIDS TO OTHER EVENTS?
YES.
United Performing Association is proud to be a TIER 1 member of the
USASF AND will be awarding bids at the UPA AmeriCup to Qualifying all
star cheer and dance teams. FULL PAID, PARTIAL PAID AND AT-LARGE BIDS
