Rule Interpretation

Due to the difference in terminology and interpretations, NO safety or regulation questions will be accepted over the phone. This is for the competing group's benefit.

Violation Deductions

Penalties are assessed at the sole discretion of the Safety Judging Panel. All decisions are final.

• VIOLATION DESCRIPTIONS
  • Minor Violation
    • 2 points per judge
    • Any non-moving violation
  • Major Violation
    • 5 points per judge
    • Any moving violation
  • Time Violation
    • 5 points per judge
    • There is no minimum time requirement.
    • There is a two-minute thirty-second (2:30) maximum time limit.
    • Dance Worlds Division is a two-minute fifteen-second (2:15) maximum time limit.
  • Style Violation
    • 5 points per judge
    • Entered incorrect category or division.
• When & How Deductions Are Applied
  • All deductions multiplied by the total number of scoring judges.
  • Deductions will be taken off the total score.
  • All champions determined by the highest average score.
