THE TRIP
EVERYONE IS INVITED! THIS EXCITING EVENT IS OPEN TO ANYONE... PERFORMERS AND FAMILIES.... WHO WANT TO VISIT DISNEY IN A MAGICAL WAY. NO QUALIFICATION NECESSARY. THE PERFORMERS WILL BE SHOWCASED ON STAGE DURING THE TRIP. FUN FUN!
Does My Entire TEAM/LINE Need To Attend?
NO. Bring a handful or everyone.
Can I Send My Daughter/Son Alone?
NO. Students 13 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult/CHAPERONE. 14 AND OLDER MAY TRAVEL TOGETHER BUT MUST HAVE ONE ADULT/CHAPERONE FOR EVERY 10 KIDS.
What Are My Responsibilities ... As The Coach/DIRECTOR?
Absolutely nothing! You may relax and vacation while UPA takes care of all rehearsals and practices. You don't even have to attend rehearsals. So plan on sitting by the pool, sleeping in OR relaxing while UPA works with the All Star performers for their special performance. Once the kids are free to sight see around the parks, your responsibilities will resume.
How Much Spending Money?
Generally you will spend between $100 - $200.
DO I NEED TO BUY A PACKAGE FOR MY THREE (3) YEAR OLD?
YES. CHILDREN THREE AND OLDER ARE REQUIRED TO PURCHASE A PACKAGE. IF YOUR CHILD IS UNDER THREE, PLEASE DO NOT LIST HIM/HER ANYWHERE ON YOUR REGISTRATION FORMS. THEY WILL BE FREE ENTERING THE PARKS, ETC. JUST TELL THE TICKET TAKER UPON ARRIVAL.
THE PERFORMANCE
UPA WILL CHOREOGRAPH A 15 MINUTE CONTINUOUS SHOW THAT FLOWS FROM ONE SECTION INTO THE NEXT. A VARIETY OF DANCE STYLES WILL BE INCORPORATED INTO THE ROUTINE BASED ON THE SKILLS AND TALENT OF THE PERFORMERS IN ATTENDANCE. THERE WILL BE NO STUNTING IN THE ROUTINE (FOR SAFETY REASONS). WE HAVE A LIMITED AMOUNT OF TIME TO INCORPORATE TRANSITIONS, FORMATIONS AND PERFECT THE ROUTINE BEFORE OUR PERFORMANCE. THEREFORE, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT EVERY PERFORMER LEARN THEIR SECTION OF THE ROUTINE WELL.
How Do We Learn The Routine?
ONE DVD WILL BE SENT TO EACH UPA ALL STAR WITH THE CHOREOGRAPHED ROUTINE. UPA STRONGLY ENCOURAGES THE GROUP OR LINE TO LEARN THE ROUTINE AS ONE. ALL UPA ALL STARS WILL RECEIVE THEIR OWN MUSIC FOR REHEARSING ON THEIR OWN. DVDS WILL BE SENT TO THE CONTACT PERSON APPROXIMATELY ONE MONTH PRIOR TO THE TRIP. UPA RESERVES THE RIGHT TO PULL OUT A PERFORMER IF THEY DO NOT KNOW THEIR ROUTINE UPON ARRIVAL. BECAUSE OF REHEARSAL TIME, WE DO NOT HAVE THE CAPABILITIES TO ‘TEACH’ THE ROUTINE ON-SITe.
What Do We Wear?
COSTUMES WILL BE PROVIDED BY UPA (AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO THE PERFORMER). PERFORMERS ARE REQUIRED TO SUPPLY SHOES AND APPROPRIATE UNDER GARMETS. THESE ITEMS WILL BE COMMUNICATED ONCE THE THEME AND COSTUME HAVE BEEN DETERMINED FOR THE SHOW. AND THE BONUS? YOU GET TO KEEP THE COSTUME AFTER THE SHOW! WHAT A GREAT WAY TO OUTFIT YOUR GROUP FOR FUTURE PERFORMANCES.

WHEN BOOKING YOUR FLIGHTS, PLAN TO ARRIVE IN ORLANDO AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE ON TUESDAY AND DEPART AS LATE AS POSSIBLE ON SATURDAY. THE FIRST REHEARSAL IS SCHEDULED FOR 6:00 PM ON TUESDAY NIGHT AT THE HOTEL. CHECK INTO YOUR ROOM AT THE FRONT DESK ANY TIME AFTER 4 PM. IF YOU ARRIVE EARLIER, FEEL FREE TO SWING BY THE FRONT DESK AND SEE IF YOUR ROOM IS AVAILABLE. REHEARSAL LOCATION WILL BE SENT VIA EMAIL PRIOR TO YOUR ARRIVAL.

HOW DO WE GET FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL?
DISNEY OFFERS FREE TRANSPORTATION VIA THE DISNEY'S MAGICAL EXPRESS. YOU MUST REMIT THE PROPER FLIGHT INFORMATION BY THE INDICATED DUE DATE IN ORDER TO ACCESS THIS SERVICE. UPA WILL TURN IN ALL TRAVEL INFORMATION TO DISNEY BASED ON THE FORMWORK SUBMITTED.
UPON LANDING AT ORLANDO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, SKIP BAGGAGE CLAIM AND PROCEED TO THE DISNEY WELCOME CENTRE. DISNEY WILL COLLECT YOUR LUGGAGE AND DELIVER IT DIRECTLY TO YOUR DISNEY RESORT HOTEL ROOM. YOU’LL BE TRANSPORTED IN AN AIR-CONDITIONED MOTOR COACH.
LODGING
We are guaranteed to be on Disney property but are notified of which property 30 days prior to our arrival. As soon as we are confirmed, we will let you know! UPA has been doing this tour for many years and has always been very happy.
Can We Stay Additional Nights?
Yes - A limited number of rooms will be reserved for UPA All Star touring members. Should you desire to extend your trip, make sure you contact UPA first to verify room availability.

How Many Can Stay In A Room?
Rooms are able to accommodate a maximum of four people. If there are five people in your group you will need two rooms. Not all rooms have two double beds. Double occupancy packages may provide only one bed and triple occupancy packages may provide one double bed and a roll-a-way bed. We will attempt to put all group members and parents rooms as close together as possible, but we can not guarantee that you will be on the same floor.
Who Can Stay In The Room?
Officially registered tour participants (performers and non-performers) are allowed to stay in the same room.

IS THERE A COMMUTER PACKAGE?
YES – PERSONS TAKING CARE OF THEIR OWN LODGING CAN PAY THE COMMUTER PACKAGE RATE. UPA STRONGLY RECOMMENDS ALL PARTICIPANTS TO STAY ON THE PROPERTY. THEY WILL HAVE MORE FUN AND BE A PART OF THE ENTIRE EVENT. IF YOU DECIDE TO STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE, IT IS THE COMMUTERS RESPONSIBILITY TO ARRIVE AT REHEARSALS AND BUS DEPARTURES ON TIME.
HOW CAN I FINANCE MY TRIP?
TO FINANCE YOUR TRIP, TRY CONTACTING LOCAL BUSINESSES AND ORGANIZATIONS. FUND-RAISERS ALSO WORK WELL. WE SUGGEST YOU SET UP A UPA THANKSGIVING TOUR ACCOUNT TO KEEP YOUR FUNDS SEPARATE. TO HELP AID IN YOUR EFFORTS, WE HAVE ENCLOSED A PRESS RELEASE FOR YOU TO SUBMIT TO YOUR LOCAL NEWSPAPER. INCLUDE A PHOTO IF POSSIBLE. ALL FEES PAID ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.
WHO STAFFS THE EVENT?
UPA STAFF ARE HIGHLY TRAINED EXPERTS IN THE DANCE/CHEER WORLD. THEY HAVE STAFFED NUMEROUS TOURS AND ARE VERY FAMILIAR WITH OUR PROGRAM. UPA WILL BE ON HAND 24 HOURS. FREE TIME IS GENERALLY OFFERED TO THE UPA STAFF DURING THE PERFORMANCE TOUR. HOWEVER, SOMEONE WILL ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE.
WHAT ARE WE REQUIRED TO ATTEND?
PERFORMERS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND ALL MEETINGS AND REHEARSALS AS WELL AS SPECIFIC EVENTS SCHEDULED FOR OUR GROUP (I.E. PHOTO SHOOT, PERFORMANCE, THANKSGIVING EXTRAVAGANZA). EXCLUDING THESE EVENTS, PERFORMERS AND THEIR GUESTS ARE FREE TO VISIT THE PARKS, SWIM, LAY OUT IN THE SUNSHINE AND RELAX.
GUESTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO DO THEIR OWN THING WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE PERFORMANCE AND THANKSGIVING EXTRAVAGANZA EVENING. DON’T HANG OUT AT REHEARSALS... GO HAVE FUN IN THE PARKS AND BE SURPRISED WHEN THE UPA ALL STARS TAKE THE STAGE.
WHERE DO WE PRACTICE?
ALL REHEARSALS TAKE PLACE OUTSIDE ON THE GRASS AT THE HOTEL. SOME REHEARSALS ARE IN THE EVENING SO IT MAY BE DARK OUTSIDE. THE WEATHER MAY BE WARM OR CHILLY – DO DRESS APPROPRIATELY AND BRING BOTH WARM & COOL CLOTHING. BE SURE TO BRING A SWEATSHIRT AND WATER BOTTLE!
DOES EVERYONE NEED TO SIGN THE RELEASE?
ALL UPA REGISTRANTS (PERFORMERS AND GUESTS) MUST HAVE A SIGNED RELEASE FORM BEFORE THEY ARE ALLOWED TO ATTEND. IF YOU BECOME ILL, PROPER MEDICAL ATTENTION WILL BE SOUGHT. INDIVIDUALS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY MEDICAL COSTS INCURRED.
WHAT TYPE OF CLOTHES SHOULD I BRING?
THE DRESS FOR MOST OF THE ACTIVITIES IS CASUAL, JEANS WILL BE FINE. FLORIDA WEATHER WILL BE WARM AND SUNNY (WE HOPE!) BUT IT CAN ALSO RAIN. BRING SHORTS, TANK TOPS & A RAIN PONCHO. BE PREPARED FOR ANYTHING. A LIGHT JACKET OR SWEATSHIRT IS ENCOURAGED FOR EVENINGS. FOR OUTDOOR PRACTICE, BRING ACTIVE WEAR. EXPECT TO GET DIRTY. IF IT IS RAINING, WE WILL STILL PRACTICE OUTSIDE, SO YOU WILL NEED TO PACK ACCORDINGLY. KNEE PADS ARE SUGGESTED. DON'T FORGET YOUR SWIM SUIT AND BEACH TOWEL!
