10/8/08 UPA ROAD TRIP update! Wow!!! The UPA Road Trip is well under way and we are having the best time! We are trying to keep up with news and pix . . . UPA is just having so much fun we are finding very limited time to sit down and log on!
Here is the latest news!!!! One of our first stops was in Chicago where UPA attended the Academy Awards for the Spirit Industry - called Spirit Industry Awards presented by SITA. UPA was nominated for 7 AWARDS last night . . . And we won the Award For "BEST PRINTED PROMOTIONAL PIECE" for the 2008 UPA AmeriCup Event Program Book! We are very proud of this piece and are excited to be recognized and honored to have received this award.
Accepting the award for UPA is Jody Delorit, Vice-President & Mallory Wagenseller, Assistant Event Coordinator.

10/6/08 UPA ROAD TRIP update! UPA stopped in madison, WI and had Lunch with Coach Nelson! Awesome! Have a great season McFarland! Your coach rocks!
10/3/08 UPA ROAD TRIP! UPA is excited to announce that Jody and Mallory will be headed on a Road Trip from October 6 - 11! Pit stops include... the 2008 Spirit Industry Trade Association (SITA) Awards Gala in Chicago, the WACPC Conference and many meet-n-greets with coaches, cheerleaders and dancers in Wisconsin and Illinois! We can't wait to tour facilities, chat with coaches, meet teams and drop off some fun gifts!
We will be posting pictures and tracking our progress thru our facebook page and RIGHT HERE online. CHeck back all week to see what they are up to!

UPA CELEBRATIONS AND MEMORIES I attended UPA several times while in high school as both a cheerleader and dancer, and I have to say that it was always our favorite competition (even better than UDA Nationals!). So it's something I want my girls to experience.

I began going to UPA Americup as a college performer when the I can honestly say the competition was "small." You never acted small though and the result has been huge growth. I've been taking MY teams for over 10 years now and recommend you to everyone. The great memories are endless but most of them happened in the hallways of our hotel, watching the competitions, in the "chute" before we competed, at the Mall Of America and all those moments when connections are made between dancers, coaches, parents, and our fans. This competition brings our team together as a family. That is perhaps the best reward. My favorite memory was winning coach of the year in 2004. I was in total shock and my team rushed the stage in the greatest surge of fan support you can imagine. I spent years cheering for them- and they were there cheering for me. I could see the pride in their eyes and thought, this is what I must look like to them when they walk off the stage. No wonder they want to do so well! It was humbling. Last year I started an All-Star studio in Green Bay and will be bringing these teams to Americup. I can't wait for them to start building their memories!

I was fortunate enough to travel with UPA to Mexico City, MX and Acapulco, MX in 2001 when I was with the Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders to teach and coach young girls at different schools around the areas. It was one of the most rewarding and incredible experiences of my life. I was so honored to represent The MN Vikings and of course, UPA…thank YOU!
"Hey. I won the College Partner Stunt @ UPA, back in ‘97 with my stunting partner, Penny Ramsey. Penny later went on to be a cast member in the hit TV series Survivor: Thailand. I was a cast member in the Warner Brother's movie The Replacements, as well as a few ESPN & National commercials. Cheerleading has done us both well. We are still involved with cheerleading today, but as judges, as owners, and coaching. Thanks UPA"
